Gujarat Digital Academy for Mental Health [GDAMH] in collaboration with NIMHANS Digital Academy was inaugurated on 17th August, 2019 by respected Dr. Jayanti Ravi [IAS] at Gujarat Institute of Mental Health, Ahmedabad with the objective of capacity building to reduce treatment gap in the area of Mental Health and substance use disorders by leveraging digital technology.

Under the guidance of Dr. B.N. Gangadhar, Director NIMHANS Banglore, Dr. Ajay Chauhan, Superintendent, Hospital for Mental Health, Ahmedabad and team NDA [Dr. Satish Girimaji, Dr. Pratima Murthy and Dr. Prabhat Chand], GDAMH has started various online certificate courses on Mental Health for Health care workers. Currently, GDAMH is offering certificate courses titled ‘Diploma in Community Mental Health’ for Medical Officers and Level – 1: Mental Health CMD+SMD+AUD Echo for Community Health Officers. Certificate courses for Nurses and Psychologists are going to begin soon.

GDAMH is lead by Dr. Deepti Bhatt who is the project in-charge for the digital academy. The team has Dr. Chirag Parmar, Ms. Vibha Salaliya and Dr. Kunal Patel who facilitates various online courses. As a supporting staff, Omprakash Singh and Yesha Merchant who works as an IT coordinator and Communication Specialist respectively.
