Inauguration of NIMHANS Digital Academy on 27th June 2018
The Honourable Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, inaugurated the NIMHANS Digital Academy on 27th June, 2018. The NIMHANS Digital Academy (NDA) has helped to consolidate and expand the tele-activities initiated at NIMHANS throughout the country. This activity was approved as part of a larger mental health informatics initiative on 30th April 2018. The NIMHANS Digital Academy was started in accordance with the objectives of the Institute in the NIMHANS Act 2012, Section 13, and also, to fulfil one of the goals mentioned in Section 31 of Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 which states:

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, India is an “Institute of National Importance” through an Act of Parliament (NIMHANS Act, 2012). Its tradition in training goes back to 1954, when the first post-graduate course in psychiatry was established here, along with allied disciplines. The unique feature of this Institute is its multidisciplinary approach to patient care, training as well as research in the areas of mental health and neurosciences.
